Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope you all enjoy your Thanksgiving. Keeping it low key here. Celebrating with the kids and Scott's parents.
I have been real busy with Uppercase this month. Have two more holiday events schedule yet. One this Sat in Downer and then the following Sat in Barnesville. In between we are going to be in Laughlin for a little relaxation. Scott will probably have some corn left to harvest-but we have already rescheduled once.
We always look forward to this, getting some golf, a little sunshine, maybe a little "slot"time. And Dad and Ellie always have been able to run up from Mesa to see us for a few days. This year we will also be celebrating Scotts "50Th" b-day.
If you haven't checked out my Uppercase Living website please do. If you are wanting to order something for a guaranteed Christmas gift you need to order by Dec 4Th. So don't delay. Now with the option of ordering right from my website you don't even need to contact me.
We have also received our discontinued list--these items will no longer be able to ordered after Jan 4Th:
The following colors:

Emerald Green...9061
Sunflower Gold..9020
Violet Bouquet..9040

Please contact me to see which expressions are to be discoutinued.
Take care all!

Snow has arrived!!

Yes its official-winter is here (or just around the corner)! This is what we woke up to today. I think this brings out the kid in alot of us to see this.
Were not to happy considering Scott still has plenty to harvest yet. We cant seem to turn off the moisture up here. Rain and clouding seems to have been the outlook for October. And now this white stuff. We will be crossing out fingers(and toes) for some much needed sunny drying days in the next few weeks so the fields can dryout and we can get the beets out of the ground and the corn harvested.

School started-officially fall now!

Kids going back to school doesn't really effect us anymore with all of ours out of high school. No need to worry about getting their supplies, clothes, and wondering about teachers, classmates, etc. But still the weather changes and we mentally start to prepare for the coming season.
Myself I look forward to volleyball, football, and the changing colors of the leaves. Fall can be so beautiful. With Scott he needs to prepare for getting his fall crops off(beets, corn, and soybeans), equipment ready and working, and working the ground for next seasons crop. Throw in a few holidays and birthdays and winter is smack in our face.
I am also planning on trying to do a make-n-take workshop for Uppercase Living in early October. With all the great things they have in the fall catalog I thought this might be fun. I just have to be sure it doesn't interfere with my "topping beets". If your interested in what I am planning (I will try and post when I have something definite) just give me a call or drop me a note.
Hope you all enjoy September.

Get ready for summer!!!

OK pull out the sunscreen and mosquito spray. Summer has officially arrived. Yes it hit 80 above here on Sunday. What a great weekend. Middle bro Mike came home to help celebrate big bro's 50th on Saturday. And what a great weekend. Family, Sun, Golf, and of course a new baby niece from baby bro Tim-McKenzie Grace.
Big news in the Uppercase world today is the announcement of their new Summer Splash kick-off to summer. Great incentives for gals who are thinking about becoming demonstrators, and for those of you who are kicking around the idea of hosting a party (can you say TRIPLE REWARDS). Give us a call to get you set up with these great incentives. But dont wait to long--they only go through the end of July--which will be here quicker then the new crop of mosquitos....
Not sure what Uppercase is???-check out this great site- http://www.bhg.com/bettertv/?lid=687029621&tid=1390022495&ci

Happy May Day Everyone!

I haven't checked my front door yet-but I am sure I have a couple of baskets sitting out there-lol. The snow may not all be gone----but at least its not snowing (yet). Really looking forward to getting some Spring time here.
They are still working on our kitchen/flooring project. Hopefully be done by the middle of next week-I can't wait to see the finished project.
Maybe I will do an Open House for Uppercase in the middle of May to show it all off. This would give gals time to get those special expressions for Fathers Day, Graduations, Weddings, etc. and allow me to "show-off" the remodeling.
Hope you all enjoy the day.

Uppercase makes the News

I found a great little story about uppercase on a local Oregon news program.
Check it out---http://www.kptv.com/video_legacy/15155655/index.html
I also found a great video on applying our expressions. I will try and post it here once I get it figured out. If your interested, you can always email me.
Yes, we did survive our latest 12 inches or so of snow-yes thats SNOW - winter is never going to end here in MN.

Bring on the Spring!

Well now that tax time has finally come and gone, I can get back to updating our blog. Scott and I are also having some new flooring installed in our home-and with that we also decided to change our kitchen/livingroom area a little (moved a wall). Boy it makes for a mess around here - but I am sure we will be happy once it all gets done.
Uppercase has annouced some new start-up incentives. Anyone siging up now will get some additional "start-up" help. If interested please drop Sharon or I an email or phone call.
The company is also gearing up for their conference in Mpls. It sounds like it will be interesting and fun. I know we are both hoping on attending. Uppercase continues to excite us with their different monthly incentives. I am really looking forward to being able to get back to spending more time with our new business.
T/C all.

Bienvenidos!

Just wanted to post a quick note that we are back from Mexico in one piece. Besides all of us sisters/spouses going, we were able to meet up with my brother Mike and his wife Tammy. Gave her one of our catalogs to look through. She is a interior decorater -----so one never knows.
The weather was overall very nice. We had one day that it rained most of the day but we were able to take in a few Mayan Ruins-awesome doesnt even touch how one feels looking at them.On another day we did some 4-wheelin and took a dive in a cenote(not sure of spelling) -it is considered somekind of Mayan spirtual place-here again real cool. We also took one day to go to Conzumel-unfortunatly didnt get any snorkeling in. Of course time flys too fast and back to brrrr MN-haha.
Beautiful place-sharon has thought up quite a few jobs she is going to take up (one of course being decorating with Uppercase in all the beautiful homes and hotels) when she moves there. Be sure to ask her about it-lol.
Just a reminder out there to anyone who is still thinking to get a party in before the extra incentives go away that we will need to close the party by the last day of this month (Feb) so dont delay.

Super Bowl Sunday

Go Patriots!
Boy where did January go? At least it makes it that much closer to spring right!
Hope you've all had to chance to check out our new catalog. Be sure to let Sharon or I know what you think of it. We have had a couple of orders this month and the nice thing is Uppercase seems to really have sped up their shipping process. The extra incentives run through Feb and they really do benefit the hostesses. If your still thinking you want to have a party this winter you might want to get it in by then. Be sure to get in touch with us soon -we are planning a little trip down Mexico way to warm up our old bones. We will be gone for about 9 days over Valentines Day drinking margaritas and soaking up sunshine. The new flower they have is so cute-and be sure to try it out in the new lime green, or honey wheat. Sharon has put a couple on a stained glass and ----you will love it. And don't forget the bygo 1/2 off on pages 84-89. I will try and update our picture show here real soon (once again i will need the expertise of Brittany).

New embellishment library

UL has come out with a new library of all of the embellishments that are available. Over 30 pages of them. Basically, if they ever had it listed in their catalog your allowed to order it. Be sure to check it out on their web site. I think some of you will find that this will allow you to put some finishing touches to your own designs, or just to place by themselves to perk up a spot.
We did get our copy of the new colors-lime green, warm stone, and honey wheat. I think these are going to be well liked also.
Hope your enjoying the new year-cold here today --6 below right now. And if you haven't checked out the new catalog, do it.
Stay warm & take care,
Christy & Sharon

2008 Incentives for Jan and Feb!

OK Gals Uppercase has come through with some great incentives for you to hostess a party and for your guests for the months of January and February. If you were thinking about hostessing, don't delay. Hope to hear from you soon.
Please read an insert from a letter posted on our website today:

2008 inspirations incentive
1. Just when you thought Buy One / Get One Half Off was
just for shoes! During the Inspirations Incentive, your
customers can get half off any item on pages 84-89
(2008 Spring/Summer Idea Catalog) when an item of
equal or greater value from these same pages is purchased.
Pages 84-89 are full of holiday and special occasion
expressions that are sure to be loved by your
customers. There is no limit to the number of half off
items your customers can get! (These items are
available to order beginning January 10Th.)
Here’s how it works:
• Let each customer know about the half-off incentive.
• As your customer completes her order, identify
expressions that come from pages 84-89.
• Place these items in order from highest value to
lowest value. (You can do this on a scratch piece
of paper–they do not have to be listed on the
Customer Order Form in this order.)
• Reduce the price of every other item on this list by
50%, beginning with the second item on the list.
2. Hostesses are the heart of your business. Treat them
to something special during the Inspirations Incentive
by bumping them up one Hostess Rewards level above
the one they actually earn for their Open House.
(This bump is in addition to the one your Hostess may
receive from her Double-Up amount.)
Example:
If your Hostess’ Open House totals $599, she would
normally be entitled to:
• $70 in free product
• Two (2) half-off catalog items
During the Inspirations Incentive, she would be
able to jump to the next rewards level and receive:
• $100 in free product
• Three (3) half-off catalog items

With the beginning of each new year, everyone is inspired to make life just a little more wonderful—and what better
way than by surrounding yourself and others with inspiring and motivating decorative expressions. The 2008
Inspirations Incentive allows you to do just that! From January 1st to February 29th, your Hostesses, and your
customers can get a little extra inspiration with each order placed.
Because this incentive period is for a limited time,
all 2008 Inspirations Incentive orders must be
submitted on or before February 29th (11:59:59 p.m.
MST).
